On July 10th my grandma, Marjean, passed away suddenly a day before her 80th
birthday. I fondly referred to her as “farm grandma”
as she lived on a farm in Iowa and me and my brother Collin loved
to visit each year. It was a boys' dream as we got to play with
tractors, pigs, cows and play golf all in one trip.
Marjean was a
wonderful woman who loved to play games and make cookies,
in other words she was the best grandma you could ask for. She lived a
great life and had the opportunity to spend quality time with all of her
children AND grandchildren in the last year, including our great trip
to Iowa.
She and I were quite close and
talked frequently so her sudden passing from surgery complications came
as a big surprise. At the same time the family was
at peace with her passing as she lived a great life and touched many
people with her flair for fashion and her willingness to help anyone.
She was the definition of a Mom and Grandma and instilled a lot of great
lessons in her children and grandchildren. She
will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Below are a few moments from the past 10 years...
